Second try
I have finally gotten the other side to do the same as the first. It was just simply adding five to the second x. I was trying to add and minus the other side of the 'line' code, rather than sticking with the first attempted code.
Looking at how the lines have shaped when falling down to the bottom of the page. I feel that it looks more like a fountain rather than a lighting effect.
I am now going to look into using the mouse to create the effect, then moving onto bringing in the sound effect.
First attempt
Here is my first attempt at getting the light effect. As you can see I've only been able to get one side to spread out. I am still working at getting the other side to do the same.
Research
Here are my first three original drawn concepts of which I want to achieve with this sound project.
(Light) : My inspiration for this design is the use of a chaser. A chaser functions so that when a light is plugged into the chaser, it then alternates the power through the channels using the song dynamics and a solid bass line. So the idea behind this is the sound will be created from producing the 'light' (left mouse click). The 'light' will be formed with a line which goes up to the mouse and falls away to both sides, creating the lighting effect.
Downside: to this interaction is the interactors play in the interaction. As it's just one click that creates the visuals and sound.
(Guitar) : Very basic design. Six guitar strings. When you drag the line and release, it creates the sound of that string (E, A, D, G, B, E). I feel that this interactive is very generic and to be honest, over-used.
Downside: Limited visuals. Over-used.
(Piano) : The inspiration of a piano. Except it will be more abstracted. The piano keys will be warped into a spiral creating a new, interesting visual. Having the sound be created from the click of the mouse. Each key the sound that it would be on an actual piano.
Downside: Boring, as all in all it is just a piano.
As said before I will be furthering my 'lighting' idea as I feel that it is more aesthetically pleasing than that of the abstract piano or the guitar strings.
Openprocessing Inspirations:

- What I inspire from this interaction is the different sounds that is created depending on what part of the rainbow you move the mouse over. I want to bring this in my own design except having the sound change dependent on what part of the sketch you click in.

- I like how depending on where you click, a different colour appears. I am thinking of doing something like this within my own design. This way the light created can be multiple colour's. That or each time you click, the light changes colour. I feel that this will make it interesting visually. And more aesthetically pleasing to the eye.

Research for lighting inspired codes
I really like this idea more than that of the guitar one. As I think that this would be more fun to play with rather than just strumming some guitar strings. Also using the lights as an inspiration leaves many doors open to explore this project with. More potential.
Research for Light idea:
Sound:
As far as sound goes I want something that sounds bass like. As its the bass line that I feel portrays the idea of the chaser more so than the dynamic of the song.
Below are the websites that I will be using within my interaction
http://www.soundjay.com/
http://www.drumsamples.org/ - This website gave me heaps of drum sounds. Of which I will probably be using over the soundjay soundeffects. As these drum sounds is what I am looking for more than just simple effects. I want that 'real' drum beat.

Research for guitar inspired codes.
If I were to do my guitar inspired coding. I would focus on the strings more that anythings else purely based on the fact that it is the strings that make the noise. I like the idea of doing a guitar as it gives the person who is interacting with the interaction the oppertunity as such to make their own music.
Ideas
I have a couple ideas for
what I wish to achieve in this project.
The first and main one that
I am looking into is when the person clicks the mouse a beam of light as such
shoots up from the bottom hits where you clicked and then expands into a type
of fan creating a sound that lasts the length of the time it takes for the fan
to finish, all the while the fan trail slowly disappears. The higher up you
push the higher the key is.
The second idea comes from
the inspiration of a guitar. So you have the different guitar strings lined up
horizontally. When the 'strings' are pulled you create that string sound. E.g.,
drag E-string; it therefore makes an E sound. Depending on which part of the
string you pull it creates a different key of 'E' or 'G' etc. But I feel that
this is a very generic interaction and has most likely been done many a times.
So I would like to stay away from this interaction and do more research into my
first and favourite idea.

ARTISTS STATEMENT
My final interaction has four
ellipses of different sizes which move with the movement of the mouse. For me I
personally feel that once making a pattern on an interaction I like to be able
to easily refresh so as to start again. So using mouseClicked you are able to
refresh the page and start again.
Colour and Opacity
My first I have no opacity with the colour yellow. Admittedly yellow does stand out, especially from the black.
Second. The colour purple with 80% opacity. I like the opacity as it gives the interaction a new more interesting element.
Lastly. Green, with 80% opacity also, except without an outline. I feel that this undefined the ellipses. Therefore I will be keeping an outline in my end result.
